From the Alliance Pipeline website:
Alliance Canada completed excavation and inspection of the upper and lower sections of its pipeline segment in the area of the slope movement near the Wapiti River late Friday, June 16. No integrity concerns stemming from the slope movement were found. We will continue slope remediation activities in the area, but were able to end the Force Majeure event and return to full firm transportation service for the start of the Saturday, June 17 Gas Day.
As communicated earlier, spring runoff and rains in the area resulted in the movement of that portion of the slope near the Wapiti River where our 42-inch diameter mainline is buried.
Last week, Alliance limited the pipeline’s pressure in the affected area in order to safely undertake work to expose and inspect the impacted section of pipe.
